Common questions about how FileSworn works, how files are protected, and what is included in each plan.
FileSworn is a secure media sharing platform for legal professionals. You upload evidence files, FileSworn hashes them with SHA-256 to prove integrity, then you share them through time-limited links. Every viewer is identified through forensic watermarking, so if a file leaks, you can trace it back to the source.
Primarily attorneys, paralegals, insurance adjusters, HR departments, and law enforcement agencies. Anyone who needs to share sensitive media and prove it was not altered.
Create a free account, upload a file, and share the generated link. The Free plan supports files up to 200MB in Courier mode (auto-expiring links). No credit card required.
FileSworn supports video, images, audio, and documents. MP4, MOV, AVI, JPG, PNG, PDF, and most common formats work. Maximum file size depends on your plan.
Every file is hashed with SHA-256 at upload. The hash is stored alongside the file. At any point, you can generate a certificate showing the original hash, upload timestamp, and file metadata. If the file were changed, the hash would not match.
When a viewer opens a shared link, FileSworn overlays their identity onto the video or image using canvas rendering. The watermark contains their email address and IP. If they take a screen recording or screenshot and share it, that identity data is embedded in what they captured.
Files are stored in Supabase Storage, which runs on AWS infrastructure. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. FileSworn does not sell or share your data.
FileSworn uses Row Level Security on all database tables. Access is controlled by your account credentials. We do not access your files for advertising or analytics purposes.
FileSworn generates certificates documenting file hash, timestamp, and access history. Whether a court accepts this evidence depends on the jurisdiction and how the evidence is presented. Consult your attorney about admissibility under FRE 901 or applicable state rules.
Every time someone accesses a shared file, FileSworn records the action with a timestamp, IP address, and user agent. This log is available to the file owner and can be included in a certificate. It documents who saw the file and when.
Yes. Professional and Enterprise plans include litigation hold. When a hold is placed on a file, it cannot be deleted or modified regardless of expiration settings. This is designed to satisfy preservation obligations during discovery.
FileSworn does not currently have a signed Business Associate Agreement in place. If you need HIPAA compliance for medical evidence, contact us to discuss your requirements before uploading protected health information.
When you share a file, FileSworn generates a unique token-based URL. You set an expiration time and optionally a maximum view count. When the link expires or hits the view limit, it stops working. The original file is unaffected.
Courier mode is for time-sensitive sharing. Files expire automatically. Vault mode is permanent storage for files you need to retain indefinitely, such as case evidence or HR records. Vault mode requires a Professional or Enterprise plan.
Yes. From your dashboard, you can revoke any active share token immediately. The link stops working the moment it is revoked.
No. Viewers open the link in a browser. They are asked for their email address so FileSworn can embed it in the watermark. They do not need to create an account.
The Free plan includes 200MB of storage and Courier mode only. There is no credit card required. It is intended for trying out the platform before upgrading.
Professional includes 50GB of storage, both Courier and Vault modes, litigation hold, and priority support. It costs $99 per month or $79 per month on an annual plan.
Yes. If you are not satisfied within the first 30 days, contact us for a refund. See the refund policy page for full terms.
The Enterprise plan at $299 per month includes 500GB of storage and all features. For organizations with higher volume or specific compliance needs, contact us to discuss custom arrangements.
When the expiration time is reached, the share link stops working and the file is marked for deletion. Deletion is permanent and the file cannot be recovered.
Yes. From the dashboard, you can generate and download a PDF certificate for any file. The certificate includes the SHA-256 hash, timestamps, file metadata, and access log.
